How to play

Tap a brass screw, then tap an empty hole, or drag the screw there. The rope comes with it.
Only a rope lying on top at every crossing can move. A rope you move is laid down on top.
A rope that crosses nothing slides off the ring. Clear every rope to finish the level.
Dark iron bolts are fixed. Move the other end of that rope instead.
Finish in par moves or fewer for three stars.

Frequently asked questions

How many levels are there?
They never run out. Every level after the first few is generated on your device and checked by a built-in solver before you see it, so every level can be solved. Level 57 is the same puzzle for everyone.

How do I get more hints?
You start with five. You earn one the first time you three-star a level, and one for each new Daily Tangle you solve. A hint is never charged if the position can't be solved.

The game says the ring is knotted for good.
Knotwood checks every position in the background. If it proves there is no way out from the current position, it tells you. Undo a move or restart the level.

Does Undo count as a move?
The board goes back, but the move count stays the same. Otherwise par could be reached by trial and error. Restart sets the count back to zero.

Is my progress backed up?
Progress is stored on your device. It is included in your normal iPhone or iPad backup.
